Top of the World

I often take for granted, the daily hikes I take and the vistas with which I am rewarded. So, while climbing to the top of Mt. Baldy feels almost "ordinary" to me, I am frequently reminded by others that this is an unknown destination for most. There are so many ways to get up to baldy, but one of my favorite ways up is to park at Deer Park and head straight up from the picnic table directly in front of you when you park your car. Once you hit the fire road, just keep following the fire road up to the top. You'll know you have reached the top when you are greeted with a view of the bay, SF Skyline, the roof of Frank Lloyd Wright's Marin County Civic Center building, Richmond Bridge and so much more. AND it's a great workout! You truly feel like you are on top of the world. Round trip it takes 75 minutes!
